Philip Poulidis
Founder, President and CEO
Philip Poulidis brings over 19 years of technical and management experience from the Internet, telecom, software and semiconductor sectors to Morega. He has held senior level management positions in Marketing, Product Management and Business Development at both large corporations as well as start-ups. His employers have included Intellon, Conexant, Novell and Aliant.
Prior to co-founding Morega, Philip was head of product management and marketing at Intellon where he was instrumental in positioning the company's powerline networking ICs as the prefered solution for IPTV and in-home multimedia distribution. While at Conexant, Philip was Senior Director of Marketing, responsible for the company's Triple-Play solutions, working with many large Telcos in different parts of the globe, to help them spec and design STB Gateway platforms capable of supporting broadband data, video and voice services.
Philip was also a board member of the UPnP Forum from its early inception, helping define the first specification and was also a key figure in the introduction of the world's first embedded UPnP stack.
Philip studied Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Toronto, holds a degree from Ryerson University in Telecommunications and Information Management and has received Marketing Management accreditation from the University of Western Ontario's Richard Ivey School of Business.
Ashraf Tahir
Vice President, Software Engineering
Ashraf has lead the engineering development since joining Morega in April 2007, and has served as Vice President, Software Engineering since April 2011. His primary responsibilities include providing technical and management leadership within the engineering organization, and working with the executive team to define the technology roadmap and strategic direction of the company.
Prior to joining Morega, Ashraf held several Engineering positions at Cogency Semiconductor, a fabless semiconductor company focused on powerline ICs. Cogency was acquired by Intellon Corporation in 2004; while at Intellon, Ashraf lead the firmware development for Intellon's HomePlug Turbo ICs.
Ashraf has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Sean Whyte
Vice President, Finance and Administration
Sean joined Morega in April 2007 as VP of Finance of Administration. In his position, his primary responsibility is to lead Morega's strategic financial direction and global financial management, planning, control, reporting, risk management, and administrative resource management. Sean has extensive knowledge of finance and accounting in a wide breadth of industries and roles. Prior to joining Morega, he held financial management positions at ViXS Systems Inc., DWL Inc. (acquired by IBM in 2005) and Hummingbird Ltd. (acquired by Open Text in 2006).
Sean holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
Bill Daly
Vice President, Sales
Bill Daly joined Morega Systems in 2009 as VP of Sales. In this role, Bill has primary responsibility for directing the sales efforts for the full suite of Morega products globally. He brings to Morega more than 20 years of sales, marketing and management experience in the broadcast video and telecoms industries.
Prior to joining Morega, Bill held the position of VP Sales and Country Manager for T-Systems Canada, a division of Deutsche Telekom. During his tenure at T-Systems Bill held increasingly senior roles within the company and led the Canadian subsidiary to a prominent position as a contributor to international sales outside of the home market of Germany.
Earlier in his career, Bill held sales, marketing and engineering roles at Teleglobe, Imagineering and Adcom Electronics with a focus on products and services in the production and distribution sectors of the broadcasting industry.
Bill is a Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia.
Charles J. Han
Vice President, Hardware and Operations
Charles Han joined Morega in April 2010 and brings over 18 years of Global Operations, supply chain and hardware management experience from companies such as Satcon Technology, Tyco International, Celestica Inc., and Visteon (formerly known as Ford Electronics). Prior to joining Morega, Charles was Vice President of Global Operations at Satcon Technology and was responsible for expanding their operations into China, Europe and the US. At Tyco International, Charles was responsible for operating one of their largest and most efficient manufacturing facilities. Charles also bring extensive technical operations and hardware development experience from Celestica and Visteon.
Charles holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto. Charles also holds Six Sigma Black belt and Lean Manufacturing Certification.
